To ensure optimal performance in your final product, it’s important to properly rehydrate dried jackfruit before use. We recommend rehydrating the jackfruit with 5 to 6 parts of water, broth, or a liquid of your choosing, depending on your application.
For applications where the jackfruit is expected to absorb additional moisture during or after processing, such as in croquettes, a rehydration ratio of 1:5 is ideal.
Conversely, for applications where the jackfruit should not absorb any further moisture from the final product, such as in pulled beef-style fillings, a rehydration ratio of 1:6 is more suitable.
Rehydrate the dried jackfruit for 30 minutes in hot water or 8 hours in cold water to achieve optimal texture and moisture content. After rehydration, make sure to drain the jackfruit thoroughly before incorporating it into your production process.
